Crossprocessing. Some people hate it, some love it. I'm still undecided.
I used a film for slides that is normally processed as a positive film, but i processed it (better to say, the photo lab) as it was a negative film, that is with different chemicals than usual. Depending on the film (kodak vs. fujifilm vs. agfa), one gets different results with sometimes weired colors.
Hmm, the longer I look at the picutures, the more I like them. So I guess that won't be my last Xpro film.

So much for my plan to write a blog... I knew when I started it, I would stop shortly after, because of my bad writing discipline. That is why I never had a diary as a teenager. But I wanna try again, and this time, I won't stop writing. I guess... Hopefully...

London - The first 4 days

Today is the fourth day of our London - house- and catsitting experience. Mr. Süß and I look after two 1-year-old Abyssinian cats. They are extremely easy to handle and it's great to have them around.

The communitiy we're living in at the moment is highly interesting, as we're almost solely surrounded by ultra orthodox jews. It's like a small Israel in front of the door step.

In the last few days we managed to do a lot of sightseeing:

We went to see the house Sigmund Freud lived in from 1938 until he died one year later. In 1986 the house became a museum dedicatded to Sigmund Freud as his youngest daughter Anna, who lived there until she died in 1982, had wished. The hubby and I visited Karl Marx's grave in Highgate Cemetery as well as the Tower of London. Furthermore, we had a nice walk through Hyde Park ending at Buckingham Palace.

There is still a lot to see, so I will keep you updated.

Photos will have to wait, as I'm using the Praktica at the moment.

I'm part of a highly exclusive book club consisting of two friends and myself. In turns, each one of us suggests a book. We all read it and meet and discuss it after having finished reading. The last one we read was my suggestion. "Die Geschwister Oppermann" (The Oppermanns: A novel) by the German author Lion Feuchtwanger. It was first published in 1933, the year Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany. The novel tells the story of four jewish siblings and their families in the years 1932/1933 against the background of the nazi seizure of power.

The next book we'll read is "Cannery Row" by the American Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck. I already ordered it from England via ChooseBooks. I hope it'll be delivered soon...

Woddy Allen

I'm a huge Woody Allen fan. Today I stumbled across the trailer of a new movie by this amazing director and writer, called "Whatever Works". It seems as though the movie won't be getting released in Germany. Sad. But I'll definitely find a way to see it.

Drag Me to Hell

Do you like horror movies? I do! More than that, I love being surprised by a good horror movie at a sneak preview. That's what happened yesterday. My husband and I went to a sneak preview at CineStar (every Monday) and we were pleasantly surprised by "Drag Me to Hell" directed by Sam Raimi.
A young woman is cursed by an old gypsy woman. Over the course of the movie the young woman tries to get rid of that hunting curse. Of course I can't tell you, if she will make it... Besides the obligatory shock scenes a lot of humor is involved - black humor, though. If you like to be frighted and to laugh at the same time this is the right movie for you.

Yesterday, my husband and I went to the oldest public playground in Leipzig. It was established in 1870 and is situated in a park called Rosental. (When I was a child I used to play at this playground since we lived just 5 minutes away.) I put up my tripod and prepared my camera. At 11:25 pm I set the camera to infinite time exposure and exposed for approximately 1h20min. The result can be seen above. As it takes such a long time to expose as well as to process the picture I will only be able to make one per night. But I am sure, more pictures will follow. So stay tuned...
